If you’re looking to fish, swim and just relax then Birch Lake in Minnesota may be just for you.  Located near Ely and the Boundary Waters Wilderness Canoe Area Lake Birch is about 20 miles long and has around 100 miles of shoreline to investigate.  You’ll have the opportunity to explore forested shorelines, rocky islands, and sheltered bays and watch for eagles, loons, and bears.  There is also canoeing, camping, and golf nearby.
